New affordable housing units in Bishops Falls

The federal and provincial governments announced today funding o f$350,000 to support the construction of 10 new housing units in Bishop's Falls.
Funding for this project has been made available through Canada's Economic Action Plan. The federal and provincial governments are contributing equally to this overall investment of $58 million under the amended Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Affordable Housing Program Agreement.
The project will involve the construction of 10 two-bedroom units, including one unit for persons with disabilities on Hampton's Hill in Bishop Fall's.

    Nice to see some that there is some perogative being given to affordable housing ... here on North East Avalon, it still seems as if the over-priced McMansion is the dwelling of choice ... and all to house 2 people and a maybe a pet. With the aging demographics being what they and energy prices going thru the roof, I'd say smaller, more reasonably priced homes will be the next housing trend ... the developer who realizes this and acts on it will make a lot of money in the years ahead ...
