NOIA wraps up in St. John's

ExxonMobil expects to have 120 employees working on the Hebron project by year-end.

"We expect to double our existing workforce … by the end of the year," said Hareesh Pillai, vice-president of ExxonMobil Canada.

"It's currently about 60."

ExxonMobil is the lead partner in Hebron.

Pillai, who is also the senior project manager for Hebron, was a speaker during the last day of the annual Newfoundland and Labrador Oil and Gas Industries Association (NOIA) conference in St. John's Friday.

About 1,0000 people attended conference events that included three days of sessions and updates on offshore oil projects - Hibernia, Terra Nova, White Rose and Hebron- off Newfoundland.

NOIA represents more than 500 offshore supply and service companies working in the province's oil industry.
