The Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board (C-NLOPB) announced today a call for nominations of lands in the offshore area to be considered by industry stakeholders for a possible call for bids in 2011.

Call for nominations NL10-01 provides instruction on the maximum and minimum parcel size for nominating lands, and the administrative procedures for the posting and submittal of nominations.

According to a news release, a call for nominations is a preliminary step prior to a competitive call for bids. A call for nominations provides interested parties with the opportunity to nominate areas of interest to be included in a subsequent call for bids.

The C-NLOPB has the right to nominate lands on its own initiative for inclusion in a call for bids.

Interested parties have until 4 p.m. Nov. 2 to submit sealed nominations to the C-NLOPB.
