Thief runs off with cash register

A thief in Grand Falls-Windsor didn't wait for a store clerk to hand over cash Thursday night, but decided to take the cash register instead.
Police are looking for the person who held up a store on Commonwealth Drive at about 11:20 p.m.
The person, wearing a mask and carrying a knife, walked into the store, took the cash register, and left. Police aren't sure if the thief ran away or had a vehicle waiting.
No one was injured during the robbery.
Anyone with any information on the robbery is asked to call the Botwood detachment of the RCMP at 257-2313, the Grand Falls-Windsor detachment at 489-2121, or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
