Petcetera is closing all 45 of its stores in Canada
The pet store announced Wednesday it had commenced a going-out-of-business sale at all its locations.
There is one Petcetera in St. John's, on Kelsey Drive.
The going-out-of-business sale started Wednesday and is expected to last up to 10 weeks, with some stores closing sooner.
The first Petcetera store opened in 1997 in Vancouver.

    More job losses for Newfoundland.

2 paper mills gone, the third on its way out.

Aviation repair jobs gone in Gander.

2 call centers gone in St. John's in the past 3 months.

3 fast food stores closed in downtown over the past 4 months.

Big oil will not solve our employment problems, Mr. Premier.

Good eye, Frank. Don't you have a suggestion to accompany your criticism? No? Nothing? So I won't be able to vote for you?

This is too bad because I admired this store's policy on the sale of cats and dogs. They did not bring in animals from breeders but, through their P.A.W.S. program, helped find adopters for local shelter animals. I always shopped there and will miss this store!

I guess even the price of chicken feed has bottomed out. And they couldn't expect their employees to work for birdseed forever while having to stoop and scoop on a daily basis.
