Schools are set to open next Tuesday, and the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary are reminding motorists to be aware of heavy pedestrian traffic in the area of schools - elementary, junior high, high school, college or university.
The RNC is asking drivers to reduce speed, drive defensively, look out for both vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
RNC Patrol Services members will be in school areas during peak traffic times in the mornings, noon and when school is completed for the day.

The RNC should be warning pedestrians to watch out for drivers. Folks in this city can't drive for beans. I come close to being hit on a daily basis. Sometimes even with the baby in the stroller. I obey traffic lights, why is it so hard for drivers to do the same?
And for christs sake, RNC do something about all the morons on Cell phones and txting. Its insane out there!

Maybe try putting the speed in these school zones to 30 where they are the norm in every-other province but here.

Now why is that, look at the cash grab that could generate. One car at each school with a radar gun, dang like shooting fish in a barrel.

So who wants to be Mayor now?
