Rogers is reporting an outage in the St. John's area with customers having some difficulties getting on the Internet.
There is no estimated time to restore the problem.

Considering the way the TV networks are trying to gouge the poor cable companies, we should have some pity on the poor ducks. Poor little cable companies and internet service providers... they can't provide top level service when they're fighting to keep food on the table for their poor, poor management and even poorer shareholders. People should go easy on Rogers and Bell Aliant. They're barely turning a profit after all... you can't honestly expect them to sink more money into making sure the service is working at peak efficiency and all the people on the Avalon can access their e-mail, now can you? ... have I mentioned how poor the cable/internet companies are? ;-)

Typical of Rogers. Big promises to get you on their network... all the commercials saying ...the fastest download speeds period... yeah, if you're the only person in your area connected at that time! More competition would be a consumer blessing around here!

Worst thing I ever did was switching to Rogers. Lots of outages and service is terrible. They must have a huge staff turnover at their call centers, too many conversations with people who just didn't know what they were doing for it to be a co-incidence. Every call took much longer than necessary, with a lot of transfers and cutoffs.

Funny seeing that most people with problems wont be able to see this news alert. I live in CBS and have also been getting an all circuits are busy message when trying to call out on my aliant phone. Just in case your wondering my internet is working LOL

I d/l about 120 movies a month, altogether 1.2 Terrabytes. And Guess what all Bell just increased my speed to 13mbps for free.
Tough luck ROGERS customers....

Billy Bob Thorton your obviously an idiot. Your reading a post that doesnt exist. He didnt admit to piracy or anything else just downloading. Although i find 600 gb a month seems to be a lie unless he is at his pc every second of the day. I would like to know how many harddrives you have and where or what job you have to be able to keep up on harddrives like that. 600 a month is a lie man. I own run and maintain servers for gaming and have my own website. I have yet to hit 600 or anywhere even close to it. I have been at it for 12 years now so i know your lying.

Brad, there is no reason a residencial connection should legally need to download 600 GB a month. You are part of the problem, not the solution...
I can't wait until they impliment throttling for all you power users downloading every movie, album, and piece of software known to man. -

rogers (robbers) is pathetic...aliant's high speed internet has no bandwidth cap, limits and is pretty fast. i downloaded about 600GB in a month, speeds were consistent at 800KB/s and no throttling. Their parent company, Bell, is a different story and I'm sure it's only a matter of time until bell's throttling and severly low bandwidth caps reach Aliant in the atlantic provinces.

Well i had an internet and cable tech come to my house and they told me the problem was in my electrical. I simply told the guy it isnt. He argueed with me that it was. I called an electrician and he told me the same. No interference on my side. This was after spending 243 plus tax on a power filter. The electrician cost me 75 plus tax and 50 an hour for 2 hours.
I called Rogers and complained and was told i now have internet,cable tv and home phone for free for 6 months. As well i am being given almost 500 in credits on my account to replace what i had to spend on this.
I placed the call today and will have a tech out between 2 and 5 pm. Everything satisfactory for me.
Tim have you called and complained or just come here and complain? Call them and tell em you will at least get 1 month free of internet. As for the caps on download, I have 60g a month and am a serious internet gamer and download movies everynight. I have yet to go over my allowed limit. So this leads me to believe that you are just looking to complain. Your not looking for anything other then to complain. -

I couldn't call home all morning, I was getting a fast busy signal. Others here at work were reporting the same thing. This was with the Roger's home phone.
