The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has been recognized by NAUMD (North-American Association of Uniform Manufacturers and Distributors) as Best Dressed Canadian Agency for 2010.
According to a news release, the agency was outfitted by R. Nicholls Distributing in Perfection Uniforms' innovative MatrixEcoSeries line of poly/cotton shirts and trousers.
In addition to being eco-responsible, MatrixEcoSeries also boasts construction features, such as hidden gussets in the shirts and pants plus an auto-adjust trouser waistband.
Technological features in the fabric include water repellency, moisture wicking capabilities, unsurpassed colour retention, and engineered stretch.
"In addition to being cost effective, this program has met, and exceeded, expectations of comfort and wearability," says RNC Const. Burt Matthews. "And the fact that the garments are eco-responsible alleviates another of our concerns."
Matthews helped in identifying particular needs of the RNC.
The release states that Newfoundland is a perfect area for eco-responsible uniforms due to the natural respect for the environment by all Newfoundlanders."
