Canadians are snapping up tickets for tonight's Lotto Max draw where the jackpot has hit the maximum of $50 million.
At a kiosk in Toronto's Eaton Centre, Ron Quin, 62, says he would take a trip to Acapulco with his family and make them each a millionaire if he won.
He says he would also donate money to the Hospital for Sick Children.
Retailer Anas Mortala, 29, says sales are pretty good today at the Gateway Newstands with a lot of people buying tickets.
Artist Harold Safre, 51, has his ticket and says if he won he would buy some acreage but wouldn't live too luxuriously.
The $50-million mark sends the lottery into so-called Maxmillions mode, where separate draws will be held for an estimated five additional $1-million prizes.
To win the jackpot, or one of the extra Maxmillions prizes, players must match all seven numbers drawn.
If nobody wins Friday's draw, the jackpot remains $50 million but the number of Maxmillion draws rises to 20 additional $1 million prizes for a potential $70-million payout from the lottery corporation.
In February, two tickets split a $50-million Lotto Max draw - one in Quebec and the other in British Columbia.
Last November, Marie Fontaine of Pine Falls, Man., pocketed a $50-million Lotto Max prize.
