Nova Scotia gives park acquired in mill land deal to Queens County

MILTON, N.S. - The Nova Scotia government has given a nature park acquired in a land deal with the former owners of the Bowater Mersey paper mill to Queens County.

Pine Grove Park is a 29 hectare package of land located in Milton.

Premier Darrell Dexter made the announcement today along with Region of Queens Municipality mayor Christopher Clarke.

Resolute Forest Products also donated $250,000 to the municipality to assist with park operations over the next 10 years.

Established in 1987, the park has three kilometres of trails for walking or biking and a picnic area overlooking the Mersey River.
