SAINT JOHN, N.B. - New Brunswick's finance minister says the provincial government won't be able to balance the province's budget until after the next election in the fall of 2014.
Finance Minister Blaine Higgs says he doesn't expect much improvement in the province's finances when he tables a deficit-laden budget in March.
Higgs says the province's economy has not rebounded since the 2008 recession.
He says New Brunswick is at the bottom when its comes to economic growth among the provinces.
Premier David Alward had said he wanted to balance the budget before the next provincial vote.
