SAINT JOHN, N.B. - RCMP have charged a man after a woman was allegedly confined in a southwestern New Brunswick home this week.
Police say Joseph Davidson (Sheldon) Mallaley has appeared in Saint John provincial court on charges of forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, assault and mischief.
The Mounties say the 25-year-old man from Blacks Harbour was arrested Wednesday in connection with an alleged incident Monday at a home in Tower Hill, about 115 kilometres west of Saint John.
Police say the man and woman are known to each other.
Mallaley is due back in court Monday for a bail hearing.
