Police arrest Cape Breton man in murder of woman who disappeared in May

SYDNEY, N.S. - Police say they have arrested a man in the murder of a Nova Scotia woman who disappeared in May.

The RCMP say they arrested a 30-year-old man at his home Tuesday after a seven-month investigation into the disappearance of Michelle Demers-Kennedy.

The 58-year-old woman was reported missing from her home in Framboise more than six months ago and has not been seen since.

Police say they consider the case a murder, but her remains have not been recovered and they are still investigating.

The identity of the man who has been arrested has not been released but police say he is from Framboise.
