Police continue to probe shooting that left man dead in western Newfoundland

FELIX COVE, N.L. - RCMP say they are still investigating a shooting that left one man dead in western Newfoundland.

Police have charged 20-year-old Jasmine Pittman with break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence in connection with Saturday's incident in Felix Cove.

But they say the Stephenville woman did not fire the weapon.

Cpl. John Butler also says police are not looking for any other suspects.

Police found the victim when they responded to reports of a disturbance at a residence in Felix Cove.

Butler says police are still trying to determine what led to the shooting.

    My understanding is that when a murder occurs during a felony, it warrants a charge of first degree murder even if no planning or intent to murder may have existed.
