Stolen bird recovered after alleged theft from New Brunswick pet shop

DIEPPE, N.B. - Police have recovered a small parrot after it was allegedly stolen from its perch in a New Brunswick pet shop.

The RCMP says the sun conure bird named Vern was stolen from a Dieppe pet shop on March 27.

Police say two men entered the PetCulture shop on Paul Street in the evening and spent a few minutes in the store before making off with the bird.

The pet shop operators have said the bird is worth more than $1,000.

Police say they received several tips and one led them to Vern.

No arrests have been made in the case.
