ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - Newfoundland's largest health authority has closed two more health facilities to visitors as an influenza-like virus continues to spread.

Eastern Health says the latest closure affects Agnes Pratt Nursing Home and the Salvation Army Glenbrook Lodge, both in St. John’s.

On Thursday, the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home in Carbonear and two facilities in St. John's — Caribou Memorial Veterans Pavilion and St. Patrick's Mercy Home — were closed to visitors.

Meanwhile, Eastern Health has imposed visitor restrictions on five other health facilities including Hoyles Escasoni Complex in St. John's, the Placentia Health Centre and Pentecostal Senior Citizen's Home in Clarke's Beach.

The health authority is reminding the public not to visit health care facilities if they are ill.
