Work on N.L. oil rig suspended due to safety concerns after object dropped

ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - Work on an oil rig offshore Newfoundland and Labrador has been suspended.

A release from the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board says operations on the Henry Godrich oil rig are suspended because of safety concerns.

The Board says the suspension is a precautionary measure.

The Board`s chief safety officer met with officials from Husky Energy and said operations won`t resume until the safety officer is satisfied all concerns have been addressed.
