Halifax cyclist struck by vehicle, ticketed for failing to yield to traffic

HALIFAX - A 61-year-old man was taken to hospital and issued a ticket Friday after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle in Halifax.

Police say the man was attempting to turn onto Robie Street from Russell Street around 7:45 p.m. when he was hit by vehicle heading north bound.

The cyclist's injuries were non-life-threatening and he was issued a ticket for failing to yield to oncoming traffic.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
