An exceptionally busy period for the Canadian Red Cross in Newfoundland and Labrador, including emergency responses in the province and a major fundraising effort for earthquake relief in Haiti, will be celebrated Monday with a reception at Government House.
The month of March every year is designated across Canada and around the world as Red Cross Month.
Lt.-Gov. John C. Crosbie and Mrs. Jane Crosbie will host a reception and oversee Canadian Red Cross presentations to three significant supporters of its programs and services: Eastern School District, Bell Aliant, and the provincial chapter of the Bell Aliant Pioneers.
