The Town of Bird Cove on the Northern Peninsulas will upgrade its recreational infrastructure with the help of $15,000 provided through the Community Capital Grant Program.
"This funding is being used to develop the grounds adjacent to the town hall as an outdoor recreation area, as well as to create a small community garden," said Terry French, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation.
"This will help enable area residents to have increased access to recreational opportunities and to become more physically active on a daily basis."
Bird Cove is among more than 30 communities throughout the province which will receive funding to purchase equipment and upgrade their recreation and sport infrastructure through the most recent allocation of $450,900 through the Community Capital Grant Program.
