The Lionpacers Group of the St. John’s Rotary Club recently presented a $1,000 cheque the Mazol Shriners. The funds will be used exclusively by the Shriners to help cover the costs of transportation to send children to either the Shriners Hospital in Montreal for orthopedic care or cleft lip and palate treatment or alternately to the Shriners Philadelphia Hospital for spinal cord treatment, or the Shriners Hospital in Boston for treatment of severe burns.  All medical treatment for children at Shriners Hospitals is provided at no cost to the patient’s family. Roy Myers (left) of the Lionpacers Group presents the cheque to John Brake, past-potentate and current secretary of the Mazol Shriners.
