CRITCH– REID JONATHAN DROVER CRITCH takes a peek at parents Erin Drover and Raymond Critch after his surprise early birth on January 26th, 2011 at the Ignaz-Semmelweis Hospital in Vienna, Austria. Celebrating in St. John’s are first time grandparents Marion and Glenn Critch and Barbara and John Drover; aunts Allison Critch in Alberta and Kelly Drover in St. John’s.  Sharing the excitement are great-grandparents Clara Reid in Bishop’s Falls and Etta Noel in Mount Pearl.

DUKE– Michael and Jill (Abbott) are delighted to announce the birth of their precious baby girl, Emily Elizabeth, January 27, 2011, weighing 7 lbs. 6 ozs. Welcoming Emily are grandparents: Paddy and Geraldine Duke and Ron and Kay Abbott; also, uncles: Craig and Matthew Duke and Mark (Allison) and Jonathan Abbott; and special cousin, Avery. Emily is also welcomed by great-grandparents: Norman and Jean Jordan and Mary Duke. Watching over Emily from heaven is her great-grandfather, Jack Duke.

EVANS– A precious Christmas gift for Mike, Karen (Tapper), big sisters Courtney and Morgan. Carter Michael James introduced himself six weeks early on December 13th, 2010, weighing 5 lbs. 11 ounces. A new little grandson for Ethel Tapper of Torbay and Gloria Evans and Les Morgan of Holyrood. A  big thank you to Daddy, Courtney, Uncle Lucas and Aunt Shana for being there during the special event, and, of course, a great big thank you to Morgan who waited patiently at home for her little brother to arrive. A heartfelt thanks to the nursing staff of the NICU for watching over Carter during his stay in hospital. Two girls, we as parents are as proud as can be, a baby boy so innocent and sweet, now our family is complete.

MCCARTHY – Dean and Amber (Highmore) along with big brother Kyle are excited to announce the early but safe arrival of their precious baby boy, Drew Barrett, who was born on November 24th, 2010 weighing 7 lbs. 5 oz. Delighted to welcome their newest grandson are Ron & Mona McCarthy and Adrian & Linda McCarthy along with great-grandparents Ray & Olive Barrett and Irene Highmore. Baby Drew is also very lucky to have his Auntie Sara to love and spoil him. Special thanks to case room nurse Krista, Dr. Kennedy and Dr. Holden.

MITCHELL– Jill and Colby are thrilled to announce the safe arrival of their beautiful baby boy. Reid Elias, born on December 30, 2010 at 10:25 p.m. and weighing in at 7 lbs. 14 1/2 oz. Welcoming Reid are proud grandparents Karen and Lloyd Lee, Sheila and Clare Mitchell. Great-grandparents Fronie and Arthur Ralph, Edna and Wesley Mitchell, and two special cousins Zachary and Ashlee Newman. Special thanks to Dr. Strand for prenatal care and to Dr. Kravitz and all the nurses in the case room for their care and support, especially Judy and Stacy. Also to Daddy and Nanny Lee for their love and support during the delivery!

NEWELL– A Little Brother for Paige!!!! Cindy (nee Hunt) and Rudy are happy to announce the safe arrival of Jeremy Austin Newell — Born December 14, 2010 at HSC in St. John’s, weighing 8 lbs. 13 oz. Proud Grandparents are Doris Gillingham (Fraser — now deceased — but Poppy G. was delighted to have had the opportunity to meet Jeremy); Kevin Hunt and Marion Butler; Judy and Ed Newell. Also welcoming Jeremy are his Great-Grandmothers Hilda Carberry and Elizabeth Rumsey and a large circle of Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Cindy and Rudy extend special thanks to friends and family; Dr. Gill and his team and the nurses at 5NB.

QUIGLEY– Craig and Neala (Devereaux) are ecstatic to announce the arrival of their first child, CADEN NEIL PATRICK QUIGLEY! Santa brought an extra special present on December 24th, 2010.  Weighing in at 8 lbs exactly, Caden is the first grandchild for both families! He is welcomed with much love and anticipation by Neil and Lorraine Devereaux of Trepassey and Paddy and Mary Quigley of Torbay. Also, anxiously awaiting his arrival are his aunts and uncles; Lesley and Billy Walsh, Marc Devereaux, Joey and Jennifer Quigley and Paddy Quigley Jr. in addition to great-grandmother Ruth Quigley.  A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Colleen Cook for her excellent pre-natal care, Drs.Gill and Hartman and the entire case room staff for Caden's safe delivery.  A very special thank you to Nurse Maria Aylward of 5 North B for her exceptional care during our extended hospital stay.  Finally, mommy and Caden would like to thank Daddy for being so supportive. We are truly blessed!

SAUNDERS – “Her little hand curls around your finger, Her little head rests upon your shoulder, And in that moment all the world falls away, And you know your heart will never be the same.” Tim & Lesley (Andrews) are thrilled to announce the birth of their precious little girl, Fayth Mary Saunders. Fayth was born at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s, NL on Saturday, January 1st, 2011 at 11:39 a.m., weighing 7 lbs. 11 ozs. What a way to ring in the New Year! Welcoming Fayth with love are proud first-time grandparents Bruce & Heather Saunders and Glen & Beverly Andrews along with Auntie Katie (Jason) & Uncle Colin (Debbie), & puppy Kado. Also joyfully greeting Fayth are great-grandparents George & Mary Saunders, Rod & Lois Baker, & Blanche Green, along with many family members and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Barber, Nurse Lavina Madden and Case Room staff for their care and support.

WOLFE– Big brother Marcus is so excited to announce the birth of his baby sister Marisa Joy, daughter of Lee and Natasha (DuPree) Wolfe.  Sweet Marisa was born on July 16, 2010, weighing 7 lbs. 13 ozs. Welcoming Marisa with much love are her grandparents Dave & Sandra DuPree and Ken & Barbara Wolfe and great-grandmother Vera DuPree. Marisa is also welcomed by a large circle of family and friends, including special cousins Ryan, Erica and Hailey.

YOUNG – Barbara (Walsh) and Gerry Young, Jr. are delighted to announce the birth of their baby girl, Olivia Anita Michelle, born January 14, 2011 at 3:10 a.m., weighing 8 lbs. 1 oz. Also welcoming Olivia are grandparents Michelle and Gerry Young, Sr., St. John’s and Anita and Frank Walsh, Gander. Also sharing the joy are Great-grandparents Geraldine and James Young, St. John’s and a large circle of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Friends and Guardian angels. Special thanks to Dr. Kennedy, Dr. Bartellas and Case Room staff for their exceptional care.
