REGINA - The NDP is promising to help people with autism and their families if it wins the Saskatchewan election next Monday.
Leader Dwain Lingenfelter (LING'-ehn-felt-ehr) says the NDP would spend $2.5 million per year on special programming and equipment for kids with childhood disabilities, including autism.
Caregivers for people with illnesses or chronic conditions would also get a $1,000 refundable tax credit.
The NDP also promises to bolster respite care, so family caregivers could get needed breaks from looking after people with illnesses or chronic conditions.
