SASKATOON - Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall says he'll visit Lt.-Gov. Gordon Barnhart late Monday afternoon to ask him to dissolve the legislature and issue the writ of election.

The move will start the official campaign for the Nov. 7 provincial election.

The premier decided the campaign should start after the Thanksgiving weekend, although it has unofficially been underway for weeks.

Parties have long been door-knocking, running TV ads and putting up signs knowing when voters would head to the polls because Saskatchewan has fixed election dates.

The only question was when the campaign would officially start.
