SASKATOON - The Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce says it would like to see more private sector involvement in health care.

CEO Steve McLellan says it's important for all the parties campaigning to get elected on Nov. 7 to look at a larger role for the private sector in health.

McLellan hopes the political parties will tackle new ways to address the ballooning health budget given an aging population, under-served rural communities, and overwhelmed facilities.

When it comes to deciding who to vote for with the provincial election, McLellan encourages chamber members and the public to look at the long-term, not just short-term political promises.
