 As part of St. Pius X Parish 50th Anniversary celebrations, there will be a special Memorial Service to honour and remember all deceased parishioners since 1962. This will be held Wednesday, November 14 at 7 p.m., in St. Pius X Church. A list of deceased parishioners is posted on the bulletin board in the Church and Chapel entrances as well as the Parish website www.spx.ca . Any questions please contact the Parish Office  - 754-0170  or email stpiusx@nl.rogers.com . All are invited to attend this tribute to our past parishioners and your relatives and friends. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall.

 

Roast Beef Dinner

The Men’s Service Club at George Street United Church will be having their annual Roast Beef Dinner in the Jimmy Pratt Memorial Outreach Centre on Wednesday, November 14 at 5:30 p.m. Take-outs available at 5 p.m. Tickets are $20. To reserve tickets, please call the church office at 726-8775.

 

 

Take out turkey tea

The next Wessex Society Lecture

The next Wessex Society Lecture will be held on Wednesday, November 14, at 8 p.m., at the Marine Institute, Ridge Road. The speaker will be Lieut.-Colonel Alex Brennan, who will speak on the topic "The Newfoundland Regiment in the War of 1812".  All are welcome.

 

 

World Diabetes Day

World Diabetes Day on Wednesday, November 14 will be recognized in select Dominion stores with diabetes-friendly cooking classes in our President’s Choice Cooking Schools followed by grocery store tours with in-store dietitians. Participating stores are Dominion at 20 Lake Avenue and Dominion on 260 Blackmarsh Road from 6 - 8 p.m.

 

Cancer Bereavement Information and Support Group

A free 8-Week Cancer Bereavement Information and Support Group for those who have lost loved ones to cancer will begin on November 14 at 1:30 p.m. at the Easter Seals building on Mount Sio Road. Registration is required. For further information or to register call 777-7604.
