    Join St. John's comic book artists as they celebrate Wallace Ryan's Mom's birthday (and his birthday 2 days later) and pay tribute to all those Moms who threw our comics out when we were kids, on February 1 from 7 - 9 p.m. at the Anna Templeton Centre, 278 Duckworth Street.  Art supplies are provided and all you need to bring is some cookies or snacks to share and some of your favourite comics to share or trade.

Dinner and dance

    All Saints Parish, CBS is having a dinner and dance on Feb. 1 at 6:30 p.m. We will be hosting a three course meal (roast chicken dinner) to be followed by an adult dance at our Parish Hall. Music by Mel Strong and the Retro Band. Tickets can be purchased at the parish office by calling 834-4501. There will be ticket draws and a door prize.

The Holy Cross Junior High School Council

    The Holy Cross Junior High School Council will be hosting an adult dance at the Knights of Columbus, St Clare’s Ave. on February 1 starting at 8 p.m. Tickets $10 each, are available in advance only, at the office of Holy Cross Junior High. Music supplied by Grant Brown’s Magical Night’s D.J services. All proceeds will go to Holy Cross Junior High.

Jiggs Dinner

    St. Mary's Anglican Church, Craigmillar Avenue will be holding a Jiggs Dinner on Friday, February 1 at 6 p.m. in the Church Auditorium.  A delicious partidgeberry dessert is included. Tickets are $15 and are available at the Church Office by calling 579-0039. Come along and bring a friend.

Lady and the Tramp

    The Wesley Youth Group will be showing the Disney animated classic movie “Lady and the Tramp” on February 1 starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Church (corner of Hamilton Avenue and Patrick Street). Refreshments and snacks will be served. Admission is free. All are welcome.
