Easter Seals NL recruiting volunteers

     Easter Seals NL is currently recruiting volunteers to assist with the delivery of their various programs for children and youth with disabilities. Dedicated volunteers are needed to assist with sledge hockey, art therapy, wheelchair basketball, swimming and disability awareness presentations. Other opportunities also exist. A volunteer orientation session will take place on Tuesday, July 2 at 7 p.m. at Easter Seals House, 206 Mt. Scio Road. Spring Tides Reading Series

  • Details : Local poets Mary Dalton and Grant Loveys will read from their new books on Tuesday, July 2nd, 7:30 pm at the Ship Pub in St. John’s. Dalton will read from Hooking: A Book of Centos. Loveys will read from Our Gleaming Bones Unrobed. Presented by the Writers’ Alliance of Newfoundland and Labrador. Free admission.

    The final readings in the Spring Tides Series, presented by The Writers’ Alliance of Newfoundland and Labrador, will be given by Mary Dalton and Grant Loveys on Tuesday, July 2nd, at 7:30 pm at the Ship Pub, 265 Duckworth Street in St. John’s.  Well-known poet Dalton will read from her new book – listed as a poetry pick of the season by CBC Books - Hooking: A Book of Centos. And up-and-coming poet Grant Loveys will read from his recent book – recognized by readers of the Globe and Mail as one of 2012’s best books of poetry – Our Gleaming Bones Unrobed. Admission to the readings is free and everyone is welcome.
