Thriving with a Disability Information Day

    On Thursday, October 24 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. March of Dimes Canada and Muscular Dystrophy Canada are hosting a Thriving with a Disability Information Day, at the Holiday Inn, 180 Portugal Cove Road. The event is aimed at individuals living with a disability, allied health professionals and service providers. Sessions will include discussions on emergency preparedness for people with disabilities, yoga and relaxation, accessing community services and supports, pain management, care of assistive devices, transportation and more. Local services will also have display booths. The cost is $10 for attendees or $25 for health professionals. Dessert & Card Party

Stanfield’s + Comedy Exposed

We’re calling the would-be-famous to participate in a “revealing” talent competition. To participate, submit a video to Exposed.thecomedynetwork.ca between October 7 and November 17, for a chance to win $5,000 and to develop a pilot for The Comedy Network with exposure in your own TV and online ad! Acts of all kinds are encouraged, but remember, entrants must be dressed to impress in their skivvies – like Stanfield’s!
