    The 6th Annual Festival of Remembrance commemorates the service and sacrifice of those who have served and continue to serve our country, through pageantry, music, song, story and prayer at Holy Heart Theatre on November 3 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets available at the Holy Heart Theatre Box Office or online www.holyhearttheatre.com. Adults $15, seniors and students $10, children $5. Personnel in uniform admitted free.

Polar Plunge

    On Sunday, November 3 the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) NL will be hosting their second annual Polar Plunge in support of Special Olympics NL. Individuals, alongside law enforcement officers will experience heartwarming and bone chilling extremes as they take the plunge into the ice NL waters while raising funds for Special Olympics. We will all be “Freezin’ for a Reason” and we want you to join us. The Polar Plunge will take place on Sunday, November 3, at the Rotary Sunshine Park, Thorburn Road, St. John’s. Registration 12 p.m. plunging starts at 1 p.m.  Participants who raise $100 or more in donations from friends, family and co-workers get the privilege to jump into the icy waters and a t-shirt. If you raise $200 you will also get a snazzy Polar Plunge

LETR Polar Plunge

  • Details : On Sunday November 3, 2013 the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) will hold its second annual "Polar Plunge – Freezin’ for a Reason" at 1pm. What better way to spend a Sunday than taking a leisurely dip in the balmy waters at Sunshine Rotary Park? All money raised will help over 600 Newfoundland and Labrador Special Olympics athletes continue to participate and enjoy quality programs and competitions. By raising a minimum pledge of $100 participants will have the unique opportunity to prove that they can not only walk the walk but plunge right in!
