    The Eastern Avalon Chapter of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada is holding its second annual Glow Bowling and Pizza Party in St. John’s on April 6 at Holiday Lanes, Elizabeth Avenue. The Glow Bowling and Pizza Party event is open to the public and free of charge. Anyone affected by Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis is encouraged to attend and bring along a friend. 100th Anniversary of the 1914 S.S. Newfoundland sealing disaster

    The Pouch Cove Heritage Committee invites the public to a Commemoration event to mark the 100th Anniversary of the 1914 S.S. Newfoundland sealing disaster. The event pays tribute to the sealers from Pouch Cove who took part in the voyage, those who died and those who returned home. Event includes artifact displays, screenings, music and a round-table conversation with sealers who made many trips to the ice and will take place on April 6 at the Pouch Cove Lion’s Club from 2 - 5 p.m. www.pouchcoveheritage.org
