St. John's First-Ever Brain Tumour Walk

  • Details : For the first-time ever, there will be a walk to support brain tumour patients and survivors in St.John's. This walk aims to raise funds for patient programs and research into this disease that an estimated 55,000 Canadians are living with. Funds go to Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada, the only national organization dedicated to serving brain tumour patients and their families.

“By the Glow of the Kerosene Lamps”

    “By the Glow of the Kerosene Lamps”, a tribute our female ancestors, takes place at Cochrane Street United on September 27.  Doors open at 7 p.m. show starts at 7:30 p.m. The show features local dancers and singers, traditional Newfoundland and Labrador music and a reading by Trudy Morgan-Cole from “A Sudden Sun”. Proceeds go to Project Grace and the Native Friendship Centre. A tea and silent auction will follow the show.
