The RCMP has released the name of the 35-year-old woman who drowned trying to rescue a child at Red Indian Lake near Buchans Saturday.
Tina Moores, a registered nurse, swam out to rescue a nine-year-old girl who got in trouble swimming in the lake.
Police say there were high winds and strong current at the time.
The child, however, was rescued.
Meanwhile, Moores' brother, who was seriously injured in a car accident while driving to be with family after hearing of his sister's death, is still being treated in a St. John's hospital.
