The province's health minister will brief the media, and release additional information, this afternoon surrounding an assessment of laboratory and X-ray services in the province.
Paul Oram will meet reporters at Confederation Building at 3 o'clock.
Over the last month, the province has been criticized by the opposition parties and people who live in or near Lewisporte in the central region and Flower's Cove on the Northern Peninsula.
Those two towns recently found out some of their health services - including laboratory and X-ray - were being cut by the province and moved to larger centres.
Oram has told reporters in the past that the cuts are to streamline services to make them better for everybody in the province.
He has also suggested additional cuts may be coming after the province completes a review of all X-ray and lab services in the province.

So you are saying that it is fine to cut services to support your self voted wage increase? No wonder this province is in it's final days. People wanting it all while the majority suffer.

As of July 1st, all of our MHA's got an eight per cent increase in their salary, at a time when a commission is going around the province asking the public what the financial compensation should be for an MHA. So the base salary of roughly $92,500 has gone up already by eight per cent - that's a $7500 raise in one year.

We need to demand they divert this increase to health care services, or grant everyone in the province a Danny Cheque for the same amount. Hey, Alberta did it with oil royalties. Is this now not the new Alberta, or is that just a smoke screen for the Williams government to try to look better than they really are?

Surprise, surprise! Whatever will the haters hate when Danny moves on, lol....Wait! I know!......Whoever is next, lol. Armchair critics are a dime a dozen, especially those with no alternate suggestions or alternate candidates that would do a better job? Yvonne and Lorraine are awfully quiet too, given the destructive forces on the horizon, dontcha think? Have they been muzzled?

Wait...What: Province in its final days? HAHAHA Stick around, boy and eat your own words, lol. We can only hope our government doesn't go ahead and pull an 'Alberta' with the royalty revenue. NL has nothing once the oil and minerals are gone, this money MUST be used to build something able to sustain itself as well as provide stability to the province. It's a tall order that requires extreme measures........that's exactly what you are witnessing.

Everybody here who drives has been given a break by the government...on licensing fees AND insurance tax - which should never have been there in the first place.

How much were those cheques the Albertan's got again? lol Every driver has probably saved the amount or MORE in your own insurance taxes since this was implemented, and guess what? It's still in effect! So that will only equal more savings! Those Albertan cheques are long gone, and, incidentally, the government of Alberta is facing over a 6 billion dollar deficit this year. How's that grab ya?!

? ?The Nova Scotia government plans to freeze salaries for MLAs, senior civil servants and political staff for the next two years.

Deputy premier Frank Corbett made the announcement Sunday in a press release.

He said the changes will be contained in the province's Financial Measures Act, to be tabled in the legislature Thursday after the introduction of the budget.

Nova Scotia has a $590 million deficit. MLAs, political staff and senior civil servants must be prepared to lead by example, he said in the release.

The former Tory government proposed a similar freeze before it was defeated by the NDP in the June election.

Oram will do and say exactly as Danny has told him to do and say. Dictator Williams rules supreme. Why would we expect honesty at this point? The MHA's while going across the province seeking imput into their proposed salary increase had allready received an 8% increase as of July 1st. OPEN...HONEST..TRANSPARENT...Great job Danny. Another election promise broken by the little tyrant himself. How this Premier and these clones can actually use the name Honourable in front of their name is one of lifes unsolved mysteries. Lies cover ups and corruption. The Williams Legacy.

News Falsh! Danny has ordered Oram to give up his public salary to fund these services.

Now would that not make a great story for a change? A public figure giving to those the swore to serve rather than taking.
