In recognition of Animal Health Week, St. John's Veterinary Hospital will host a canine first aid seminar from 1-5 p.m. at The Capital Hotel (Salon C) 208 Kenmount Rd. The seminar is designed to teach pet owners important techniques that could save a pet's life during an emergency situation.

New essay competition offers opportunity for career guidance to Newfoundland and Labrador youth. All work should be submitted by Oct. 6.
