The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary in Labrador West are investigating a gruesome find.
Police say an adult female dog and several puppies were put in a five-gallon bucket and thrown in a dumpster behind the Legion in Wabush.
The adult dog was white in color and appeared to be between 10-15 pounds.
It is believed these animals were placed in the dumpster between Oct. 12-19.
Due to the state of decomposition, the dogs may have been dead for several weeks before the remains were discovered.
The RNC is seeking public assistance.
Anyone that may have any information in relation to this crime is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or visit www.rocktips.ca.
