An upcoming concert intended to entertain music lovers of all ages, will also generate funds for a good cause.
Springdale band Anyday, will perform live at the Indian River High lecture theatre Saturday, November 14, at 7:30 p.m.
They will officially launch their debut CD, "Got Extraordinary" and kick off their concert tour as well. There will be a $5 door charge, with a portion of the proceeds going towards Daffodil House in St. John's. Another portion will be given to a well-known member of the community.
"We're mixing it together with a benefit concert for David Willis, who everyone knows as Cookie the Clown, said drummer Devin Robinson. "He's been in St. John's since the third week of August and will hopefully be home by Christmas. He and his family have been staying in the Daffodil House, so we want to help support that and support Dave and his family there as well."
Willis has been entertaining crowds as Cookie the Clown for many years and has appeared at numerous venues throughout the province.
"He's so good with children and he has a good heart, and he's done a lot for our community and surrounding communities. We just felt it would be good to help," Robinson said.
Bass player, Glenn Thomas agrees.
"He puts a lot of smiles on kids' faces and on the faces of other people, so we figure we'd try and do the same for him," he added.
The band is hoping for a great turnout at the show, which will open with Kellie Loder from Corner Brook.
She was the winner of this year's YC 2009 talent search contest in Gander.
Anyday is planning to perform all the songs from their "Got Extraordinary" album, which carries a special significance to the trio.
Robinson says the concert is for all ages, and will feature special lighting and visual effects.
"It's going to be a blast, it's going to be a lot of fun, and we encourage people who like it loud and want to have fun, to come on out and support a good cause," he said.
