New windows and doors for Gander housing units

New windows, doors, roofing and exterior painting are included in a package of renovations being carried out on 24 Newfoundland Labrador Housing residences in Gander, it was announced today.
The Newfoundland Labrador Housing Corp. awarded the $247,000 contract to J & J Enterprises.
Tom Marshall, acting Minister of Transportation and Works and Minister Responsible for Housing, said the upgrades in Gander are among many modernization and improvements projects being carried out in communities throughout the province.
"These projects are aimed at making renovations and energy-saving upgrades to improve and maintain existing social housing, and in the process to create jobs and strengthen local economies," Marshall said.
The renovations are being completed on social housing properties on Rickenbacker Road and Gordon Street in Gander. The anticipated completion date for this project is early 2010.
