The Canadian Red Cross has decided to keep its doors open this weekend for anyone looking to make donations to the Haiti relief fund.
The Canadian Red Cross offices are normally closed on weekends, but will keep 14 of 26 Atlantic Canada locations open for those looking to donate to the disaster relief fund.
Offices will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. St. John's, Grand Falls-Windsor, Corner Brook and Wabush in this province
Financial donations for the "Haiti Earthquake Fund" can also be made securely by credit card 24 hours a day online at www.redcross.ca/helpnow or by calling 1-800-418-1111. At this time the Canadian Red Cross is accepting financial donations only to support relief operations in
Haiti.

The story above is incorrect. Canadian Red Cross offices, which are normally closed on weekends, were open on SATURDAY and we greatly appreciate the generous support shown by people throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. However, these offices are NOT open today (Sunday). They all reopen for normal hours (830 a.m. to 430 p.m.) starting on Monday. Donations may still be made 24-hours a day securely online at redcross.ca/helpnow or by calling toll-free 1-800-418-1111. Donations are also accepted starting Monday at other locations such as all major chartered banks and as part of your purchases at checkouts at a number of retail stores such as Walmart.
