Donation dollars at work

Salvation Army - Focus on food aid of more than one million units of emergency rations being distributed through mobile kitchens. More information can be seen at the Salvation Army website (www.salvationarmy.ca). The site now includes the story of a baby born in Haiti following the earthquake disaster.

Oxfam - Focus on water distribution. More information on relief efforts by Oxfam's staff of 200 in Haiti can be seen at the Oxfam Canada website (www.oxfam.ca). The site includes a Haiti Earthquake support Q&A and a day-by-day blog from the ground by aid worker Helen Hawkings. Oxfam is also joined with CARE and Save the Children in the Humanitarian Coalition (www.thehumanitariancoalition.ca) to better co-ordinate relief efforts.

Red Cross - Focus on medical aid. On Monday announced a field hospital had been established in Port au Prince with $800,000 in support from the Canadian government and a donation from the Norwegian government. More information on relief efforts of more than 400 Red Cross workers who have arrived in Haiti since the earthquake is available at the Red Cross website (www.redcross.ca).

Hands Across the Sea - A Christian ministry directed by Karen R. Huxter of Steady Brook who has been living and ministering in the country of Haiti since 1995.
