Police are searching for a shotgun stolen from a Department of Natural Resources vehicle Wednesday night in Conception Bay South.
The shotgun was unloaded and had a trigger lock in place.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says the theft occurred in the Chaytor's Road area of C.B.S., and was one of a number of theft incidents in that area that night.
Some electronic items were also taken along with the shotgun.
The firearm is described as a non-restricted Remington 12-gauge pump-action shotgun, model 870 Express.
The RNC warns the public not to handle the firearm should they locate it, but to contact the RNC immediately.
Anyone with information in relation to the incident is asked to contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). You can provide information on the NL Crime Stoppers website at www.rocktips.ca.
