Firefighters in St. John's have doused a small fire in the kitchen of a downtown restaurant.
Capt. Randy Hammond says the fire originated in a pizza oven at the Yellow Belly Brewery on George Street. The building rapidly filled with smoke as an exhaust fan failed to clear the smoke.
Though they quickly put the fire out crews remained on the scene for some time as a precaution as the building's chimney was quite hot.
There was little to no damage inside the restaurant and pub as a result of the fire.
