Snowmobiler killed in Labrador accident named

The RCMP have released the name of a young man killed in a snowmobile accident Saturday.

Fifteen-year-old Justin White of Happy Valley Goose Bay died when he struck a guy wire while snowmobiling with friends shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday.

Police said there were no breaches of the Motorized Snow Vehicles Act nor any other statute in the accident.

    My cousin was killed the same way in Goose Bay over 10 years ago. He was wearing a helmet but still hit the guy wire and was killing pretty much instantly. Very sad story but hopefully the young people will learn to be more careful and keep an eye out for the dangers out there.
