Firefighters clip duct fire at chicken outlet

St. John's Regional firefighters were called to the Swiss Chalet restaurant on Kenmount Road in St. John's this morning. A fire that started and was contained in the duct work at the popular eatery was quickly brought under control.

    See what happens when you skimp on maintenance ? Regular duct checks and cleaning is required to remove all that cholesterol, else she goes up in smoke !

    I would like to see how many times this has happened at this restaurant...I worked next door for a couple of years and I remember seeing 3 times. If they are going to risk lives...they should have to pay for the services
    of fire fighting etc. Why should the taxpayers have to pay for their lack of maintenance.
