Rain warning continued for St. Johns area

Snow and freezing rain in central and northeastern areas

It's a miserable wet and windy day in the St. John's area with a rainfall warning still in effect, according to Environment Canada.
Up to 30 millimetres of rain is expected by the end of today, and an additional 10 to 20 millimetres throughout tonight and Saturday.
Snow will dominate over central and northeastern areas, where up to 30 centimetres is expected by day's end. A band of freezing rain mixed with snow over the Clarenville and Bonavista areas is expected to persist today. Some areas may see near 10 millimetres of freezing rainfall.
Sustained northerly winds of 70 km/h with coastal gusts to 110 km/h are expected to continue along the south coast today.
