Nasty weather continues wreaking havoc on the island as the weekend continues.
Environment Canada has issued several weather warnings for the eastern half of the island.
Snowfall warnings are in place for Terra Nova, Gander area and Bonavista north.
Another 20 centimetres are predicted for the area today, with less falling on coastal areas.
Snowfall warnings have been lifted from the Bay of Exploits and Grand Falls-Windsor area.
Meanwhile, the rain continues to fall in St. John's and area and on the northern parts of the Avalon Peninsula.
Another 20 to 30 millimetres are expected before the end of the day before it turns into freezing rain later today.
Also under freezing rain warnings are the Clarenville area and the Bonavista Peninsula.
All this weather is as a result of a low-pressure system moving over the southeastern Grand Banks. The system has delivered 80 to 100 mm of rain to parts of the Avalon Peninsula and about 40 centimetres of snow to the Gander area.
Though there are no warnings issued, Environment Canada is predicting high winds with continued snow and rain. Gusts could be as high as 80 kilometres per hour in most areas.
