Motorists travelling Route 431 on the Northern Peninsula can expect a safer and more enjoyable driving experience thanks to road improvements scheduled to be carried out this summer. The Honourable Tom Hedderson, Minister of Transportation and Works, announced the tender call for the upcoming roadwork today.
"This latest tender is a further example of our commitment to improving infrastructure throughout Newfoundland and Labrador," said Minister Hedderson.
"From one end of this province to the other, we have been making unprecedented investments in highways, public buildings, marine and other infrastructure and we will continue to invest strategically in projects that benefit Newfoundlanders and Labradorians."
The tender is for the upgrading and paving of sections of Route 431, between Route 430 at Wiltondale and the Gros Morne National Park Boundary. This project will be cost-shared 50/50 between the Provincial and Federal Governments under the federal Infrastructure Stimulus Fund.

FM, it is literally about 2 kms. Not worth the press release, and certainly not enough to justify the dirty big roadside billboard that will no doubt be posted for the gov't. to brag about it.

Thanks for the flakes that fall off the crumbs, Hedderson.
