Police release name of man who died after being hit by vehicle

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has released the name of the 85-year-old man who died about 7 p.m. Tuesday after being hit by a vehicle in Long Pond, C.B.S.
Allan Pilgrim was hit as he walked along Route 60, at the intersection of Perrins Road, and died at the scene.
The RNC says family members of the deceased have been notified.
The RNC closed the highway, from Anchorage Road to Country Path Road, to enable RNC Accident Investigation and the Forensic Identification Unit to conduct a thorough examination of the scene.
The roadway was reopened to traffic at approximately 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.
RNC Traffic officers are continuing to investigate the collision, however, charges are not anticipated to be laid.
