Directors of the Religious Social Action Coalition met today at the Basilica Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in St. John's to discuss a letter they sent to Newfoundland and Labrador Senators and MPs.
The letter asked Newfoundland's representatives to review Ottawa's budget to see if it might, in fact, increase the gap between the rich and the poor.
The directors, which represent Christian, Muslim, Jewish and Hindu religions, are asking for a thorough analysis of the budget, government transparency and accountability to close the gap.
This coalition was originally formed last year to help combat poverty in this province.
