Toyota Canada wants anyone who wins a RAV4 in this year's Tim Hortons roll-up the-rim contest not to worry about sticking accelerator models.
Toyota says the 2010 RAV4 was one of eight models involved in a massive recall of approximately 270,000 vehicles in January.
Tim Hortons is giving away 40 RAV4s in the latest version of its popular contest.
A company spokesman says Toyota Canada would have performed any recall-related modifications on those models.
Tim Hortons has also created a special edition of the contest for Canadian military personnel serving in Afghanistan.
The troops won't be able to win any of the RAV4s, but can end up with cash prizes, small laptops, special hats and food prizes.

Donny...My cousin won the car last year, and has no connection with any Tim Hortons employees
John...every single vehicle manufacturer has had it's share of major recalls. GM is having a problem now with their power steering, Ford a few years ago with their tires. If you lose your trust in a company because of a safety recall, then you must have to walk everywhere because you can't trust any make or model!! Yes, Toyota recalled approximately 250,000 vehicles because of a potential safety risk, but there were only 750 actual issues found in Canda, and only 3 in the local area. Get a life! This whole thing with Toyota has been blown out of proportion! I would buy another Toyota in a heartbeat. -

Well done to Tim's not forgetting those serving overseas who are unable to participate at home. I do feel that they should have, however, made it a part of the regular contest in Canada even if they had printed up some more cups so that everything would still remain the same in the odds of winning. If one of the people serving overseas won a big prize, they could easily claim it now and pick it up when they came back home to Canada.
As for the Toyota's, I think I'd take the cash value because despite them saying not to worry, it will take me a while to trust them as once the pot opened up there have been a few recalls by them for various models. Let time tell how well their fixes will work over a long term say a couple of years. -

Truth be know, the chance of you winning one is better than the chance of you ever affording to drive one so I wouldn't concern myself with ever trusting the product.

Sure Toyotas are awesome.. very high quality compared to vehicles such as ford or chev ..or any others for that matter ...maybe with the exception of suzuki..those are pretty good too...sticky accelerators are practically nothing compared all the problems with other vehicles
